The IMAKE OpenVision® Session Resource Manager (SRM) gives service providers the ability to ensure the quality and reliability of service, while offering flexibility in bandwidth allocation for streaming. A truly open system, OpenVision® SRM interoperates with multiple brands of middleware, network elements and video servers.
OpenVision® SRM puts intelligence into the network by optimizing the assignment of network resources to eliminate over provisioning, lower overhead and ensure operational efficiencies. This enables faster delivery of On Demand services and more reliable bandwidth per customer session for VOD content, gaming, downloads and more.
A critical element of digital broadband service delivery, OpenVision® SRM manages bandwidth allocation between the application server, the network resource manager and the end user client. SRM maintains status of the sessions and updates the application server and the network resource manager as needed. To aid in troubleshooting and resource planning, it provides real-time network monitoring and management of client bandwidth on a per-session basis, from session start to session tear-down.
